Chase Claypool Miami Stats

Chase Claypool Traded to Miami Dolphins

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool has been traded to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a 2023 second-round pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Claypool, who was selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, has been a key contributor to Pittsburgh's offense over the past three seasons. In 39 career games, he has recorded 136 receptions for 2,084 yards and 19 touchdowns.

The trade comes as a surprise, as Claypool had been expected to be a key part of the Steelers' offense in 2023. However, it is clear that the Dolphins are in need of a wide receiver, and Claypool could be a valuable addition to their team.

The Dolphins have been struggling to find a consistent wide receiver opposite Tyreek Hill, and Claypool could fill that role. He is a big, physical receiver who can make contested catches and stretch the field. He is also a willing blocker, which will be helpful in the Dolphins' running game.

The Steelers, meanwhile, will receive a second-round pick in exchange for Claypool. This pick could be used to address another need on their roster, such as cornerback or offensive line.

The trade is a win-win for both teams. The Dolphins get a much-needed wide receiver, and the Steelers get a valuable draft pick. It will be interesting to see how Claypool performs in Miami, and whether he can help the Dolphins reach the playoffs in 2023.
