Early Life and Career

Keir Rodney Starmer KCB KC (born 2 September 1962) is a British politician and barrister who has served as Leader of the Labour Party since 2020.

Starmer was born in London, England, and grew up in a small town in southern England. He studied law at the University of Leeds and the University of Oxford, and worked as a human rights lawyer before entering politics.

Political Career

Starmer was elected to the House of Commons in 2015, and served in the Shadow Cabinet of Jeremy Corbyn.

In 2020, Starmer was elected Leader of the Labour Party. He has led the party to a number of electoral victories, including the 2021 Hartlepool by-election.
