Paralympics: azzurri sensational on the tennis courts
Pellizzari and Dameno eliminate the Americans and fly to the semifinals
The blue duo defeated the American duo 7-6, 6-3 on the tennis courts at the Ariake Tennis Park, in the quarter-finals of the Paralympic tournament. Tomorrow they will face the British Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid, number one in the seeding, in the semifinals
Fresh from the success of the blue swimmers, who Sunday gave Italy 11 medals, the Italian Paralympic team returns to cheer. The tennis courts of the Ariake Tennis Park gave a great satisfaction, thanks to the duo formed by Luca Pellizzari and Antonio Dameno.
The blue duo, seeded number three in the tournament, in fact won against the Americans Bryan Barten and Chris Herman in the men's wheelchair doubles quarterfinals. The match, which lasted a little over an hour and a half, saw Pellizzari and Dameno win with a score of 7-6, 6-3.
Tomorrow, Tuesday 24 August, the two Italians will face the British Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid, seeded number one, in the semifinals.
