Illidan: Team Liquid “in my top two teams” alongside Team Spirit

Team Liquid’s carry player, Illya “Illidan” Pivtsaev, has included Team Liquid in his top two Dota 2 teams alongside TI10 champions Team Spirit

Illya “Illidan” Pivtsaev may have only joined Team Liquid in February, but the Ukrainian carry player is already placing his team among the world’s best.

In an interview with Russian news outlet Cyber.Sports.ru, Illidan named Team Spirit and Team Liquid as his top two teams in the world. In third, he placed OG, the team that eliminated Team Liquid from both the Gamers8 Riyadh Masters and the PGL Arlington Major.

“This Team Liquid is in my top two teams,” Illidan said. “For me, the best is Team Spirit, even after Arlington. But this Team Liquid is in my top two teams.”

Team Liquid had a breakout performance at the Arlington Major, finishing second to Team Spirit. It was the team’s best result since winning the Riyadh Masters in July 2021.

The team has since struggled to maintain that level of play, finishing 7th-8th at the OGA Dota PIT Season 7 and falling to Team Spirit in the finals of the Dota 2 Champions League Season 16.

Despite the team’s recent struggles, Illidan remains confident in Team Liquid’s potential. He believes that the team has the talent and the experience to challenge for the TI11 title.

“I think we have a real chance to win TI,” Illidan said. “We have a very good team, we have a lot of experience, and we are all very motivated to win.”

Team Liquid will have a chance to prove themselves at TI11, which will be held in Singapore from October 15-30.
