Detroit's offense erupted for 11 runs while Montero dazzled on the mound

Keider Montero tossed a complete game shutout as the Detroit Tigers rolled to an 11-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night at Comerica Park.

Montero was brilliant, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out seven batters. It was his first career complete game and his second career shutout.

The Tigers' offense provided Montero with plenty of support, scoring 11 runs on 14 hits. Miguel Cabrera led the way with three hits, including a two-run homer in the first inning.

Jeimer Candelario and Victor Reyes each had two hits and two RBIs, while Harold Castro and Jake Rogers each had two hits.

The Tigers have now won three straight games and are 8-10 on the season.

Montero's Performance

Montero was in complete control from the start, retiring the first 10 batters he faced. He allowed just one baserunner in the first four innings, a walk to Brendan Rodgers in the second inning.

The Rockies finally got to Montero in the fifth inning when C.J. Cron singled to lead off the inning. However, Montero retired the next three batters in order to end the threat.

Montero allowed a single to Yonathan Daza in the sixth inning, but again retired the next three batters in order. He then retired the side in order in the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings to complete the shutout.

Tigers' Offense

The Tigers' offense wasted no time getting to Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela. Cabrera led off the game with a double and scored on a single by Candelario.

Reyes followed with a single, and Candelario scored on a groundout by Castro to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.

The Tigers added two more runs in the second inning on a two-run homer by Cabrera. They made it 5-0 in the third inning on an RBI single by Reyes.

The Tigers continued to pour it on in the fourth inning, scoring three more runs on a two-run single by Candelario and an RBI single by Castro.

They added their final run in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by Rogers.
